July 27 – Frank Smith president of National Education Association for Disabled Students (NEADS) of Canada
July 28 – Voldi Gailans Chairman of the Braille Chess Association of England

It’s all about Donna’s major initiatives for this month plus a lot more

Current Affairs

Through out July, Donna continued her initiatives in the name of advocacy.
She worked with Carol Trapani of the Alt Connect group in California to present a presentation on “believing is achieving” session to a test group of participants.
Carol and Donna are pleased with the results and will now work to develop a series of workshops for virtual presentation in the coming months.
Donna also continued her “Believing is Achieving” initiative when she added 2 members to her team; Christopher Schiafone and Mia emeliamaceasik 2 Toronto based members who are going to work with Donna to submit applications to various camp associations for Donna to present daily workshops at their camps.

Donna also continued her collaboration on the John Panarese memorial initiative whereby they hope to launch their first workshop in the fall.
This series of workshops will be presented from the standpoint of Donna who after losing her functional vision reached out to the late Tom Decker and Larry Lewis to learn how to make the iPhone a part of her new World.
Donna thanks Joan Work and Leo Bissonnette for walking the walk with her.

Donna also reached out to Commissioner Christopher Sutton of the Canadian Human Rights Commission and his team and in late November she will be interviewing the Commissioner re their latest projects and this podcast will be posted on December 03 to coincide with the celebration of the United Nations International Day for Persons with Disabilities.

Donna also reached out to the new CEO of the Canadian Transportation Agency Alain Langois and pitched the creation of an Accessible Travel Podcast to him.
It was received favourably and Monsieur Langois will be reaching back to Donna some time in August.
Donna has already started to gather support for this one of her latest initiatives and has already secured support from 3 potential participants.

Donna also managed to bring new life to her Dining with Donna Podcast and will announce more in her August edition.
Suffice it to say that this is going to be a very exciting new avenue for Donna and her team.

Donna struck new ground when she engaged with certain teams at the North York General Hospital.
She was introduced to this group by her Family Physician DR. Dani Manis and she is presently exploring opportunities to make virtual presentations on a regular basis to help build awareness about the needs and requirements of patients with disabilities.
Donna thanks DR. Dani for her help and support.

Finally, Donna and her friend and developer Aaron DiBlasi are planning to publish the fourth and final article of her series on the Apex/Pearson debacle; her journey to not having been able to take her Cyber Security exams.
She and Aaron will be holding a Remarkable World Commentary podcast to talk further in early August.

Donna has struck gold re her pottery initiative!
Her pottery instructor Shaun Kelly who now owns his studio having bought the Studio on the Hill pottery studio has kindly offered to include her Christmas pieces in his new SOKO studio’s Christmas sale on November 07 2026.
Donna is very excited and she also shares that in the fall she will be selling her other pieces at a new location online.
