Christopher Sutton Accessibility Commissioner of Canada.
Campaigning for weekend camps
Donna continued her relentless campaign to initiate weekend camps for those preparing to leave high school along with their parents, and young adults preparing to enter the workplace. She continued to collaborate with DR. Alan Chase of the Eye Retreat Organization and with associates in Montreal.
She also reached out to others in Quebec and with others across North America.
Fourth Quarter meeting of the Air Canada Advisory Committee
Donna attended this two day meeting in Montreal on November 13 and 14 and was extremely pleased with the topics discussed.
The continued journey towards Cyber Security certification
Donna continued her campaign towards resolving the issue of an inaccessible exam for Cyber security Certification and as the month drew to a close she was heavily engaged in working to engage the Apex organization who offers the course, Pearson who administers the exam, and CompTIA who creates the exam.
This is going to be a very interesting initiative as Donna hopes that this can be satisfactorily resolved so that other blind and sight impaired persons can enjoy equal access to the taking of online exams.
Engaging with the Canadian Human Rights Commission
Donna was invited to a meeting by the head of the complaints section of the Canadian Human Rights Commission to discuss concerns over the complaints process.
The meeting went extremely well and Donna believes that it was productive and hopes that the CHRC will be able to address concerns raised and to resume more community engagement. The issue over scarce resources for the CHRC was also discussed.
Donna’s initiative in memory of the late John Panarese
And Donna took some giant steps to fulfilling her promise to her late coach, mentor, and friend.
She began taking tutoring at her neighbourhood Apple Store to learn Pages and voiceover with Apple Ai.
Donna is extremely excited especially so that she is working with a wonderful tutor named Devin.
